Deep Soft Tissue Massage

Times are changing, we must be conscious of the definitions used by therapists especially when describing deep tissue massage which has become increasingly popular over the years as a therapeutic tool.
Deep tissue massage may be described as the intention of the therapist to work deep into the tissue layers within the body to encourage them to relax, lengthen, and release holding patterns.
Massage treatments must be comfortable for the patient, effective, and energy efficient. This does not always necessarily mean that the massage needs to be deep and hard, or be painful in order to have a deep effect.
The fascia system and tissue tension is effectively treated with slow and gentle pressure, even just holding the tissue until it relaxes under the therapists hands can be profoundly deep and bring about change without being painful.
